Melbourne Recital Centre: Katie Yap
12 October @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm AEDT

Timeless Bach with one of Australia’s great modern violists.
Brisbane-born, Melbourne-based violist Katie Yap brings her signature warmth to a morning of Bach in The Peter and Ruth McMullin Beacon.
The flowing arpeggios of J.S Bach’s Cello Suite No.1, reimagined for viola, give way to the quiet familiarity of Bach’s beloved chorales. Contemporary works including Emily Sheppard’s deeply intimate Aftermath and Leilehua Lanzilotti’s meditative ko’u inoa are interspersed throughout the program, drawing old and new into gentle conversation. As the sun streams in, let Katie’s storytelling and sound start your week on a high.
