Studio Stocks: Melancholia
3 October @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

Following its celebrated premiere season, Studio Stocks’ Melancholia returns to the stage in a powerful exploration of grief, resilience and hope.
Created by Melbourne’s contemporary tap dance company Studio Stocks and directed by acclaimed tap artist Garry Stocks, Melancholia pushes the boundaries of percussive dance, weaving contemporary movement with a fresh, genre-defying approach to tap. Through rhythm, movement and raw human connection, audiences journey through the complexities of loss and healing, discovering the transformative power of shared experience.
Performed by an extraordinary cast of Australia’s most accomplished tap dance artists, this evocative work challenges perceptions of what tap dance can be – revealing its remarkable capacity for vulnerability and emotional depth. Described by Dancer’s Choice as ‘a triumphant and breathtaking fusion of rhythm, movement and emotion’.
