Festival of Voices: Mia Barron & Isle Two

7 July @ 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm AEST

The Tasmanian celebration of all things vocal returns with a host of performers from Australia and overseas. Traditional and contemporary works rub shoulders with cabaret and educational workshops, while headline acts include Hobart-based vocal ensemble JESSA performing contemporary classical repertoire at the Port Arthur Asylum, and vocal works setting words by Australian writers performed by AVÉ alongside polyphony by Bach and Victoria. This year’s Classical Choral Workshop concentrates on Handel, culminating in a concert featuring his Dixit Dominus, performed by the 120 singers of the Festival’s Classical Choral Workshop, and Zadok the Priest, performed by the Come Sing Handel Choir.

Festival of Voices and the Youth Arts and Recreation Centre (YARC) proudly present an evening of emerging Tasmanian talent, featuring folk-pop storyteller Mia Barron and genre-bending duo Isle Two.

Mia Barron brings her calm, heartfelt songwriting to the stage, weaving personal stories with a gentle folk-pop sound. Influenced by artists such as Gracie Abrams, Searows and Noah Kahan, her music captures moments of change, connection and vulnerability. After releasing her debut EP Pages Unfolding in 2024, Mia is preparing to launch Faded Annotations in May 2026, marking an exciting new chapter in her work.
