Port Fairy Spring Music Festival: Radical Renaissance
10 October @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm AEDT

Recorder revolution
Trailblazing Melbourne-based quartet The Recorder Co-op are recognised as national leaders in the envisioning of future directions for the recorder in Australia — its instruments and its music — championing Renaissance and contemporary repertoire, including newly commissioned Australian work, which they perform on a matched set of consort recorders based on historical models by Danish maker Ture Bergstrøm, the only set of its kind in Australia.
This year they unite with local community recorder players for a program traversing Renaissance masters Praetorius, Morales, Isaac, Agricola, Brumel and des Prez, to works by cutting edge Belgian composer Pieter Campo, two collaboratively composed premieres, and the much-anticipated world premiere of Journeyings by lauded Warrnambool-based composer and musical dynamo, Jeanette Hajncl.
