Canticum Chamber Choir: The Sacred Veil Eric Whitacre
18 September @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm AEST

The Sacred Veil, scored for choir, piano and cello, is a collaboration between Eric Whitacre and poet Charles Anthony Silvestri. Silvestri’s wife, Julie, died of ovarian cancer in 2005 at 36, leaving two young children. Texts from Silvestri, Julie, and Whitacre tell a story of love, loss and the search for solace. Although inspired by a personal friendship, the work shares a human journey that many can relate to.
Canticum Chamber Choir with conductor Emily Cox welcomes renowned cellist Louise King, and pianist Cara Tran as we present this intimate work in the warm acoustic of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rosalie, and the heritage listed St Mary’s Anglican Church, Kangaroo Point. Drinks and nibbles will be available after each concert.
We are proud to support Ovarian Cancer Australia, with 10% of ticket sales going to this vital cause.
