Opera in the Country: Tones and Tides
4 July @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm AEST

What a way to experience classical music in the midst of island beauty!
In this concert series, opera leaves the grand theatre and comes to the Redlands. Just as ferries bring communities together, music becomes the vessel through which stories are shared.
Tones and Tides features the rich vocals of sopranist Charlotte Goode in dialogue with clarinet, double bass and piano. The program balances famous operatic arias by the likes of Purcell and works by Debussy with hidden Australian gems by composers such as Margaret Sutherland and Miriam Hyde; it’s a program filled with exquisite beauty.
With the government’s current 50c public transport fares also including ferries from Cleveland and Redland Bay to the islands, this is a truly special trip to the opera. Free pre-concert music workshops for kids run before the concerts, so bring the whole family for a low-cost, cultural day out this school winter break.
