Music at the Basilica: Water of Life – A Musical Voyage from Skye to Venice

Scottish tunes are transformed into elegant chamber works in music by James Oswald, while the splendour of Venice shines through masterpieces by Gabrieli and Vivaldi.
A particular highlight is Vivaldi’s enchanting Concerto for Viola d’Amore, showcasing the unique warmth and resonance of this rare instrument. The concert culminates in Vivaldi’s exhilarating Double Violin Concerto, performed with guest musicians from the Geelong Youth Orchestra, bringing together emerging talent and seasoned performers in a joyful celebration of music across generations.
