Jules Massenet’s Cendrillon (Cinderella), which Opera Australia performs in a condensed, family-friendly version in Sydney on New Year’s Eve and then through to the end of March, promises to be the perfect holiday treat. Though audiences may not know the opera, they will certainly know the story, and this accessible English-language translation allows them to sit back, enjoy the music and watch the spectacle unfold.
