Welcome to the Australian Art Music playlist! A monthly playlist of classical, jazz, experimental and electronic music focused on contemporary Australian composers, musicians and sound artists.

If there’s one thing putting together the Guide to Australian Composers has taught me, it is that this community is broad, vast and deep. When launching, I offered an open invitation to musicians and audiences to send me anything they felt was missing (there are always gaps, and new exciting things). This month’s playlist is dedicated to all of you who got in touch, to advocate for yourselves or others, introduce yourself, and share some music.

So excited to shine a light on a bunch of new faces this month, with a truly wild and expansive listening experience from prelude to postlude. As announced in my interview here on Limelight last month, from January 2026 the Australian Art Music playlist will be moving to Bandcamp – please stayed tuned for how you can support the move and put more money into hands of our local industry.
