Melbourne Theatre Company has appointed its Artistic Director Anne-Louise Sarks as sole Chief Executive Officer, marking a shift away from the company’s dual leadership model. Sarks has shared the top role with Executive Director Sally Noonan since 2021. Noonan chose not to apply for the new position and recently concluded her tenure with the company.

Georgia Hendy will take up the position of Executive Director of Canberra Theatre Centre in February, becoming the first woman to lead the venue in its 60-year history. Hendy has held senior leadership roles at the Sydney Opera House and Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC). She arrives in Canberra from Darwin, where she has been working as Chief Executive Officer of Darwin Entertainment Centre, now known as AANT Centre.

Producer Harry Prouse is the new Head of Contemporary Performance at the Sydney Opera House.
