Sydney Symphony Orchestra has announced the appointment of three musicians. Principal Clarinet Olli Leppäniemi, Principal Second Violin Lerida Delbridge and Tutti Second Violin Robert Smith have joined the orchestra’s ranks on a permanent basis.

Leppäniemi is a Finnish clarinettist who also holds the position of Principal Clarinet in the Finnish Chamber Orchestra. He has held the same position with the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra and the Lahti Symphony Orchestra.
Delbridge joined the SSO in 2013 as Assistant Concertmaster. She has performed with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Victoria and the Australian Chamber Orchestra.
A recent graduate of the Queensland Conservatorium, Smith has held First Violin positions with the Melbourne and Sydney Symphony Orchestras. He has performed with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Southern Cross Soloists, Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra, Omega Ensemble and Ensemble Q.
