The tenor tells Clive Paget about recording his new series with pianist Nathan Williamson, the first volume of which is Limelight’s Recording of the Month for January–February 2021.

What was the inspiration behind this three-disc series and how wide was the remit?

The project was the idea of Nathan Williamson, who’s the pianist on the disc and also a composer in his own right – in fact we do quite a big work of his on the last disc. He has a great love of the work of Ivor Gurney, and indeed so do I, and we...
