There’s something special about the contemporary classical music scenes outside of the big smoke of Sydney and Melbourne.
What they lack in larger opportunities, they make up in spades in passion and a sense of community.

Adelaide-based vocalist Elizabeth McCall gives a shot at describing what that is in her home city.
“In Adelaide, I think we have this amazing mix of people who are incredible at their art form, and also want to live in a place that allows them space to create,” McCall tells Limelight.
“We have an amazing quality of life here, and because of our size, we have lots of arts organisations that work together. There’s such a generosity in sharing the word [of events], an awareness that the more that happens, the more vibrant the scene is.”
