The nominations for the 2024 Academy Awards have been announced overnight in the United States. Christopher Nolan’s biopic Oppenheimer leads the way, with 13 nominations ahead of Yorgos Lanthimos’s Poor Things (11 nominations), Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon (10) and Barbie (8).

Best picture will be decided between Oppenheimer, American Fiction, Anatomy of a Fall, Barbie, The Holdovers, Killers of the Flower Moon, Maestro, Past Lives, Poor Things and The Zone of Interest.
Bradley Cooper (Maestro), Colman Domingo (Rustin), Paul Giamatti (The Holdovers), Cillian Murphy (Oppenheimer) and Jeffrey Wright (American Fiction) will contest Best actor in a leading role. The Best actress in a leading role nominees are Annette Bening (Nyad), Lily Gladstone (Killers of the Flower Moon), Sandra Hüller (Anatomy of a Fall), Carey Mulligan (Maestro) and Emma Stone for Poor Things.
