To tackle disparate and uneven access of schoolchildren to music education, Alberts has today launched its Music Education: Right from the Start national initiative, with an official launch event at the White House in St Kilda, Melbourne, where guest speakers included musician and former Australian politician Peter Garrett.

The initiative aims to celebrate the “power of music to change lives”, and support the “belief that every Australian primary school student needs and has a right to quality, ongoing, sequential music education”, said Emily Albert, Alberts Executive Director and Music Education Lead.
“Alberts is committed to working with others across the music industry and education systems to deliver on the promise and the myriad benefits music education can bring. That’s what the collaborative national initiative, Music Education: Right from the Start, is all about. ”
