The Australian Haydn Ensemble (AHE) has announced Jacqui Smith as its new CEO.

Artistic Director Skye McIntosh has also revealed that the ensemble is currently preparing to embark on its first international tour to the US across the West and East coast, where it will perform at the opening of the new Australia Embassy in Washington and then at Carnegie Hall.

Smith is an arts manager, writer and consultant with a close link with classical music, having completed her undergraduate studies with a Bachelor of Music in recorder performance at the University of Sydney. In her most recent role, she served as CEO at Goulburn’s Hume Conservatorium, where she founded the inaugural year of the Hume Chamber Music Festival in 2022, in concurrence to the development of regional music education programs.

She also worked at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, managing both international and domestic engagement programs. She is a Director of the Song Company.
