Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2023

Camerata – Queensland’s Chamber Orchestra has announced its 2023 season, with four mainstage concerts to be performed in Brisbane and Toowoomba. With guest artists including William Barton, Véronique Serret, Alex Raineri and Catherina Lee, the program winds from America to Europe and back home again with a balanced program of modern and classical repertoire. The chamber orchestra, which plays without a conductor, provides a welcome encouragement for its audience to join and talk with the musicians in the foyer after the performance, and each concert offers a ‘Wild Card Mystery Guest’.

The season’s opener, Heartstrings, explores the romance and passion of music led by strings. Frank Martin’s Etudes for String Orchestra No 2 is a rare selection for Australian audiences, carrying with it exciting promise for the rest of Camerata’s program.
