The return of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s hip-hop musical Hamilton to Sydney brings with it a cast of experienced hands and newcomers.

Australia’s original Alexander Hamilton, Jason Arrow, will reprise the title role. Callan Purcell returns as Aaron Burr after performing the role in Brisbane and Auckland. They are joined by Akina Edmonds (as Angelica Schuyler), Elandrah Eramiha (Peggy Schuyler and Maria Reynolds) and Brent Hill as King George.

Making their Hamilton debuts are Vidya Makan as Eliza Hamilton, Gerard-Luke Malgas (Marquis de Lafayette and Thomas Jefferson), Etuate Lutui (Hercules Mulligan and James Madison) and Googoorewon Knox (George Washington).

Knox (grandson of country music star Roger Knox) joins the company after recently appearing in the Sydney Festival production Big Name, No Blankets, Ibijerri Theatre’s rock and roll biography of the Northern Territory’s Warumpi Band. Vidya Makan recently featured in the Australian touring production of SIX and in the Melbourne Theatre Company premiere of Bloom.
