The Coriole Music Festival has announced a new Artistic Director. Violinist Kate Suthers will take over the position for the 2026 festival, taking over from cellist Simon Cobcroft, who departs after a three-year tenure in the role.

Suthers is a Sydney-born musician who was appointed Concertmaster of the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in 2022. Previously, she was based in the UK where she held positions within the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the City of Birmingham Symphony. She was also appointed an Associate of the Royal College of Music in 2022.
Suthers has performed with the Scottish Ensemble, the Australian World Orchestra, the English National Opera and Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, and has worked with composers including Thomas Adés, Peter Maxwell Davies, Anna Meredith and Jonny Greenwood.
