SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

Palace Opera & Ballet has announced a star-studded 2024-2025 season featuring an impressive eight new opera productions, four revivals and 10 ballets.

Leading international artists include Jonas Kaufmann, Anna Netrebko, Asmik Grigorian and Juan Diego Flórez, while the conductor line-up is led by Riccardo Chailly and Antonio Pappano.

For the first time, the season also includes the Australian Chamber Orchestra with Richard Tognetti and Joseph Tawadros collaborating on a reimagining of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons.

Audiences who were captivated by Barrie Kosky’s thought-provoking and critically acclaimed London production of Wagner’s Das Rheingold last year will be keen to catch his new Royal Opera House staging of Die Walküre in June 2025.

With Norwegian superstar Lise Davidson singing Sieglinde opposite Stanislas de Barbeyrac as Siegmund, and with Christopher Maltman returning as Wotan, German soprano Elisabet Strid as Brünnhilde and Antonio Pappano in the pit, this is certain to be one of the UK’s hottest summer tickets.
