Soprano Aleksandra Kurzak is the latest artist to be signed by Decca Classics, Universal’s US-based classical label.

The 33-year-old Polish star has signed an exclusive recording contract with Decca Classics that will see her debut recording released sometime during the Australian winter. Just recorded with the Valencian Community Orchestra, led by Israeli conductor Omer Meir Wellber, the album will be a showcase of Kurzak performing arias from roles she has either performed or is preparing to perform on stage.

Those roles include Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze de Figaro and bel canto roles from Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Bellini’s I Puritani and Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor.

Kurzak is also set to feature on the latest album from Maltese tenor Joseph Calleja, performing duets from Puccini’s La Bohème and Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers.
