The Fellows will undertake a residency with Dots+Loops ahead of its biennial NONSTOP festival. Presented at the Brisbane Powerhouse on 5 December, NONSTOP’s program will feature new works written by this year’s cohort.
The Felllowship program encompasses mentoring, workshops, seminars, collaboration opportunities and professional development with leading arts industry mentors.
2026 marks the seventh edition of Dots+Loops’ Performance Fellowship. Mentored by multi-instrumentalist and composer Matt Hsu, fellows Cameron, Hughes, Mackson and Volkmer will collaborate to create two new sets of live music.
“The Dots+Loops Fellowship Program truly feels like it exists in a world of its own,” says Layni Cameron. “I feel this program is filling a real gap in the music industry where you have the opportunity to experiment with your sound without limitations and directly collaborate with like-minded artists to create weird and wonderful works.”

Since May, Composer Fellows Bishop and Sansome have been working with mentors Lisa Cheney, Tim Munro and Dots+Loops Co-Director Connor D’Netto to develop brand new multimedia works for flute.
“Dots+Loops is unique in the level of creative freedom and expression it gives the fellows, allowing me to explore and experiment with my practice in a way that wouldn’t be possible alone,” said Bishop.
“The opportunity to have my work presented interstate is invaluable as an emerging artist, and I am so excited to expand my professional network with people I would not have met otherwise.”
