SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

Ensemble Q has announced an expanded 2025 season, with an array of performances and experiences to captivate audiences across its home state. With support from Arts Queensland, the ensemble will present four distinct concert series, a one-day festival, and new regional touring initiatives.

The season also includes performances in diverse settings – from metropolitan concert halls to speakeasy-style bars, rainforest retreats and heritage venues.

Metropolitan Highlights at QPAC

The flagship series at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) moves to a Monday night format, featuring a lineup of compelling works. A standout is the Australian premiere (25 August) of Jörg Widmann’s Schumannliebe, reinterpreting Schumann’s Dichterliebe for baritone and a 23-piece ensemble. The performance will be led by star baritone Benjamin Appl in collaboration with the Queensland Art Song Festival.
