Festival of Voices has announced its 2022 program, with “Australia’s premiere celebration of the voice” set to roar to life in Tasmania from 1-10 July, with a range of events across the genres of choral, contemporary and cabaret.
More than just a series of concerts, the festival is also an educational and participatory opportunity, welcoming all who wish to sing and share time together. The festival declares that its core aim is “to bring people together, not just as observers but as participants as well.”
Limelight spoke to Joan Wright, the festival’s Choral Curator, who has been involved with the festival since its inception in 2005, and asked her to tell us more about the 2022 lineup, what makes the festival special, and the power of song.
