With three carefully-crafted tours as tentpoles, Flinders Quartet has revealed its 2024 season. Approaching its 24th year as an ensemble, FQ has also announced some foundational structural changes.

Elizabeth Sellars will serve as first violinist from January 2024, following the departure of Thibaud Pavlovic-Hobba at the end of 2023. The quartet is “thrilled” to welcome her.

“After admiring her playing and consummate musicianship for so long, we are ecstatic that the stars have aligned to bring us together. For Liz, Playing in a quartet was a defining feature of her early career in Melbourne and London, so joining Flinders Quartet is like coming home.”

The Chair of FQ’s Board of Directors, Julian Burnside, is also stepping down after a seven-year tenure. The role will be taken over by Sarah Hunt, who is “honoured and excited” to step into the position.
