Palace Cinemas has announced the return of the German Film Festival, which this year features a selection of movies direct from the 2023 Berlin International Film Festival, a music-themed retrospective, a focus on female filmmakers and a family-friendly Kino for Kids program.

The festival opens with A Thousand Lines (Tausend Zeilen), a drama based on real events directed by Michael ‘Bully’ Herbig. The festival’s centrepiece, direct from the Berlinale, is The Teachers’ Lounge (Das Lehrerzimmer), a tense drama about a teacher investigating a series of thefts at her new school. The festival’s showcase of female directors from Germany and Switzerland includes special presentations of Sisi & I, a reinterpretation of the “Sisi” myth starring Sandra Hüller, and Ingeborg BachmannJourney into the Desert, a biopic directed by the legendary Margarethe von Trotta.
