Co-producers Opera Australia and JONES Theatrical Group have announced that Christine Anu will headline the cast of the Australian premiere of the musical Hadestown at Theatre Royal Sydney in February 2025.

Anu, known for her award-winning music career and standout roles in musicals such as Rent and Little Shop of Horrors, will play Hermes, the show’s sharp-tongued narrator.

Joining her onstage will be Abigail Adriano (Kim in the recent OA staging of Miss Saigon), who takes on the role of Eurydice. Noah Mullins (West Side Story, La Cage Aux Folles) plays Orpheus, the young musician at the heart of the tale.

Opera Australia regular Adrian Tamburini is set to play Hades, with Elenoa Rokobaro (Caroline or Change, tick, tick…BOOM!) as Persephone. Sarah Murr, Jennifer Trijo, and Imani Williams appear as the Fates.
