A world-first composition and choreography initiative, MadeBy, developed in partnership by APRA AMCOS, OneMusic Australia and the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), has resulted in the online premiere of Hope, by NSW Blue Mountains composer Emma Greenhill and Brisbane-based choreographer Monique Mangano. The video went live today.

In 2021, Greenhill and Mangano were selected through a submission process and paired together to create a new piece with original music and choreography. They worked remotely for almost the entire project, only meeting for the first time face-to-face in Brisbane in September.

Greenhill’s credits include original compositions, music for the screen and numerous orchestrations and arrangements. Mangano is a Queensland College of Dance graduate.

Both artists received cash prizes to support their work as well as professional mentoring from composer Rachael Dease and dancer and choreographer Alice Topp.
