Limelight is delighted to announce that Jason Blake has been appointed as its new Digital Editor.

The appointment marks a restructure for Limelight, which will now operate with a Digital Editor working alongside a Print Editor. Jason will oversee all the online content, including news stories and reviews, while our existing Editor, Jo Litson, will focus on the print magazine.

Jason has more than two decades’ experience in publishing, most of it in the arts and events arena, where he has worked as an editor, writer, critic and website producer.

Most recently, he was Publications Manager for the 2022 Sydney Film Festival. In 2017, he co-founded audreyjournal.com.au, an independent web platform focused on Sydney’s performing arts scene, which he co-edited until its closure in June 2022. Prior to that, he was the lead theatre critic of the Sydney Morning Herald from 2009–2017, and the stage critic of the Sun Herald from 2006–2009. From 2003–2006, he was a site producer for the Sydney Morning Herald’s online arts and entertainment sections.
