Lucy Guerin Inc (LGI), the Melbourne-based contemporary dance company led by Artistic Director and choreographer Lucy Guerin, has received a two-million-dollar bequest from its former Chair Chloe Munro, who passed away in June 2021. It is an extraordinary gift for the organisation, which celebrates its 21st birthday in 2023, and is the largest bequest received by an Australian contemporary dance company. It does, however, come with specific obligations as to how the money is used, with $1.5 million of it going to independent dance artists chosen by Munro.
