Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2024

Now in its 15th year, Melbourne Recital Centre has unveiled its 2024 program. Among the multi-genre highlights of are performances from Icelandic pianist Víkingur Ólafsson, Australia’s Courtney Barnett, contemporary New York string quartet Brooklyn Rider and English folktronica artist Beth Orton.

There are 15 classical concerts and recitals programmed throughout 2024, including the return of acclaimed Korean pianist Yeol Eum Son, who will follow her widely regarded 2022 Centre debut with a bold interpretation of 19th century masterpieces by Bizet, Czerny and Beethoven in June 2024.

Director of Programming Marshall McGuire says the MRC’s Exquisite Classical Experiences program remains true to the Centre’s beginning as a purpose-built venue for classical and chamber music:
