The Alma Moodie Quartet has announced a refresh with violist James Wannan and cellist Miles Mullin-Chivers joining founding violinists Anna da Silva Chen and Kristian Winther.
Wannan comes to the group as a founder of the Australia Piano Quartet (APQ), Co-Artistic Director of the Ensemble in Residence at the University of Technology Sydney, a member of Southern Cross Soloists and an Artistic Associate of Sydney Chamber Opera. He has appeared as a soloist with several of orchestras including the Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.
Mullin-Chivers is a former Sydney Symphony Orchestra Fellow and has been a member of the Australian World Orchestra since its 2022 BBC Proms Tour.
“They are longtime friends of ours and have played with us in various ensembles over the years,” wrote an AMQ spokesperson. “It’s such an exciting stage in the group’s journey and we couldn’t be happier to be joined by these two amazing musicians!”
At the same time, AMQ announced it would be joining the Emblem Artists roster for general management.
