NOOSA alive! Festival celebrates its 21st edition with a guest list of internationally renowned Australian and local artists taking over the upmarket Queensland resort town from 21 to 30 July.

Queensland Ballet will launch the event with the world premiere of its new work, Tartan & Tchaikovsky Mash, at The J Theatre on Friday 21 and Saturday 22 July.

The two-act performance features Tartan, a brand-new contemporary piece inspired by Scottish music, and a compilation of short works set to music from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake and The Sleeping Beauty.

Making their Queensland premiere as a musical duo, longtime musical collaborators Meg Washington and Paul Grabowsky will partner for an intimate jazz-infused show at the at The J Theatre on 26 July.

On the following night at the J, the Australian Chamber Orchestra will perform an exclusive, one night-only performance with ACO Artistic Director Richard Tognetti leading a diverse program that moves from works by Mozart and Bach to contemporary songs by Randy Newman and US-German musician Kurt Weill.
