Veteran opera stars Plácido Domingo and José Carreras, two thirds of the crossover titans The Three Tenors, have announced a series of concerts in Australia in 2024.

The Spanish singers’ The Legends Together Again, Live in Concert Tour starts on 7 March at RAC Arena in Perth, before heading to the Rod Laver Arena, in Melbourne (10 March), Brisbane Entertainment Centre (13 March), Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena (16 March) and the Adelaide Entertainment Centre on 19 March.

The performance will feature iconic arias from the tenor repertoire, duets from beloved operas, showtunes from Broadway classics, Neapolitan songs and some classic pop surprises.

Plácido Domingo, now 82, has sung more than 150 roles in more than 4500 performances in a career that began at the age of 16. He made his operatic debut in a leading role as Alfredo in La traviata at the Teatro de la Ciudad in Monterrey. He also sang his first Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca in that year in Mexico City, a role he would perform more than any other during his career.
