Queensland Ballet has announced that Ivan Gil-Ortega will take on the role of Artistic Director in February this year, one left vacant in August 2024 when Leanne Benjamin parted ways with the company after less than a year.
“I am truly excited to step into the role of Artistic Director at Queensland Ballet,” said Gil-Ortega, who takes the reins from Acting Artistic Director Greg Horsman.

Gil-Ortega comes to the role with more than 25 years in ballet as a Principal Dancer, Assistant Director, Artistic Consultant, Freelance Rehearsal Director, Stager and Coach.
