SeasonPreview: Your guide to the arts in 2025

Southern Cross Soloists (SXS) has announced its 2025 season, marking its 30th anniversary as an ensemble.

SXS celebrates with four world premieres – three as a part of its Didgeridoo Commissioning Project in collaboration with didgeridoo player/composer Chris Williams – and three programs as a part of its 16th Concert Series program at QPAC.

The ensemble has also announced the appointments for its Artistic Directorship after oboist Tania Fraser stepped down earlier this year. SXS members clarinettist Ashley Smith and violinist Margaret Blades will serve as co-Artistic Directors.

Flautist Tim Munro has also been appointed as programmer for the 21st SXS Chamber Music Festival, and as a consultant for the SXS Didgeridoo Commissioning Projects 2022–2032.
