Season Preview: Your guide to the arts in 2023

St George’s Concert Series has announced its 2023 season, with four concerts across the year that aim to elevate classical and sacred music through a string of esteemed collaborations and a striking solo organ program.

Under the curation of organist and Cathedral Director of Music Joseph Nolan, the Concert Series traditionally hosts Perth premieres of large-scale works, such as the debut performance of Handel’s Samson in Western Australia and the 2021 debut performance of Bach’s Easter Oratorio. In 2023, it offers a grand program delivered by eminent Australian performers – a safe-yet-promising bet for returning audiences after the disruption wrought by the pandemic.

“2023 is about consolidation and prudence. COVID is still with us and it is not a time for financial risks. However, our commitment to the highest level of artistry and beautiful programs burns as high as ever,” Nolan told Limelight.
