On Thursday 28 September, Sydney Youth Orchestras (SYO) will take to the streets. The Big Busk is back again.

This year, the SYO’s sprawling annual fundraiser aims to bring in at least $50,000 for what is the SYO’s 50th birthday. More than 30 hours of music spanning classical symphonic favourites, pop hits and modern works will fill the city, performed by over 500 young musicians.

“Big Busk 2023 is a celebration of the power of music to inspire, unite, and create positive change in our community,” said SYO CEO Mia Patoulios.

We invite everyone to join us in person or online in supporting the future of music and witnessing the incredible talents of our young musicians.”

Performances by every orchestra under the SYO umbrella will be taking place across the Sydney CBD – in the Queen Victoria Building, Pitt St Mall, at Grosvenor Place and Dixon St – with a livestream broadcast from Haymarket Creative.
