The Australian Ballet has announced the promotion of six dancers across its company ranks, recognising their artistic excellence, onstage achievement and contribution to the organisation’s creative culture.

The promotions span from coryphée to senior artist and reflect standout performances across the 2025 season, including major debuts in classical and contemporary works.

Amy Ronnfeldt has been promoted from corps de ballet to coryphée following notable performances in William Forsythe’s Blake Works V (The Barre Project) and her debut as the Generosity Fairy in David McAllister’s The Sleeping Beauty.

Cameron Holmes moves from soloist to senior artist after acclaimed debuts as the Prince in The Sleeping Beauty and as Lescaut in Kenneth MacMillan’s Manon.

Grace Carroll has been elevated from coryphée to soloist, recognised for her debut as Romola in John Neumeier’s Nijinsky and her portrayal of the title role in Manon.

Isobelle Dashwood rises from soloist to senior artist, following her debut as Aurora and her performance as the Lilac Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty.

Maxim Zenin is also promoted from soloist to senior artist, after commanding performances as Diaghilev in Nijinsky and his debut as the Prince in The Sleeping Beauty.

Samara Merrick advances from coryphée to soloist after her debut as Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty and her acclaimed appearance in Stephanie Lake’s world premiere Seven Days.

Artistic Director David Hallberg said the promotions recognised both artistic growth and commitment to the Company’s values. “What a joy to celebrate these six remarkable artists as they step into their new ranks,” Hallberg said. “Their passion, dedication and talent have developed in distinct ways, and these promotions acknowledge their growth on stage and their contribution to our Company.”

Meanwhile, as the curtain fell on the final performance of Cinderella, marking the culmination of its 2025 season, West Australian Ballet announced four promotions. Charles Dashwood, Ruben Flynn-Kann, Kassidy Thompson and Beatrice Manser were promoted from Artists to Leading Artists.

Sean Ferenczi will also join the company as an Artist, having previously performed with Queensland Ballet.

WA Ballet also announced that three West Australians – Tahlia Stoker, Isabella Triscari and Declan Daines – will join the Young Artists Program in 2026 alongside Lucas McLean, who has performed in the company’s productions of ALICE (in wonderland) and Cinderella.

Stoker has performed in numerous WA Ballet productions while completing her studies as the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA), and Triscari and Daines both come from The Australian Ballet School.

“What a remarkable two years it has been with David McAllister guiding us toward our 75th anniversary,” said recently appointed Artistic Director Leanne Stojmenov.

“I am both energised and assured by the exceptional company of Artists who embody West Australian Ballet. As we look ahead, we do so with these outstanding Artists, who have so deservedly been promoted, together with five new Artists who will join us as we embark on this next chapter, one firmly grounded in our heritage and alive with possibility.”
