One of the world’s longest-running festivals, the Sydney Film Festival, will return to the city in June.

The 63rd Sydney Film Festival will open on June 8, presenting more than 250 films from all over the world. The festival brings an exciting season of cinema complete with premieres, red-carpet openings, and in-depth discussions. The festival will be host to 150 guests, including directors, actors and industry professionals from around the world and Australia, and films will be screened alongside free and ticketed talks, exhibitions, and parties.

The Sydney Film Festival’s Director Nashen Moodley says, “The Festival is delighted to again present an especially exciting 12 days of world-class cinema. Documentaries and feature films have been carefully selected and curated from prominent film festivals around the world, including Cannes, Sundance, Toronto and the Berlinale; and we will also present some of Australia’s finest productions.”

The Festival also includes an Official Competition of 12 films that vie for the Sydney Film Prize, a $60,000 cash prize based on the decision of a jury of international and Australian filmmakers and industry professionals.
