Pride and Prejudice – An Adaptation in Words and Music is presented in two parts – “a musical introduction” in Act I, followed by “a musical reading” in Act II, featuring the narration of an abridged version of Jane Austen’s famous novel, intertwined with music by Carl Davis.
The one-hour theatrical retelling of Pride and Prejudice, appearing here after the interval, was first staged in the UK in 2017 to celebrate the bicentenary of Austen’s death, with Hayley Mills as the narrator.
