Hello! The Mormons are back in town – and the inspired musical, which takes aim at their American version of Christianity, is as gloriously irreverent and delightfully entertaining as ever.
The Book of Mormon is famously blasphemous, scurrilous, puerile and foul-mouthed – but also witty, clever and one of the sweetest, funniest musicals of all time.

Written by South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, together with Robert Lopez (Frozen, Avenue Q), it premiered on Broadway in 2011, winning nine Tony Awards including Best Musical.
First seen in Australia in 2017, when it opened in Melbourne before touring, this brilliantly staged revival is a warm-hearted joy.
The show follows two fledgling missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as they are sent on their first two-year mission – not to Orlando, Florida as the vain, ultra-confident, narcissistic Elder Price had hoped and prayed – but to a remote village in AIDS-ravaged Uganda.
