This three-hander by Melbourne playwright Keziah Warner wrestles with some of life’s most important roles: friend, lover, parent.

Developed through Red Stitch’s INK new writing program and realised by director Isabella Vadiveloo in an intimate, well paced production, What’s Yours offers plenty of food for thought but ultimately may not entirely satisfy.

The play opens many years ago at a party. Obscured by a gauzy curtain, the scene establishes the long friendship between Lia and Jo before Simon walks into their lives.

The curtain is pulled back; we are in the present. Jo and Simon’s relationship ended long ago, and now Lia and Simon are at the end of their tether and finances with IVF. Even though the two women fell out over Simon, the idea of asking happily child-free Jo to donate her eggs arises.

What would be an awkward question in the best of circumstances reveals these characters’ desires, opinions, secrets and complicated feelings about each other.
