Brisbane Music Festival: Flight
23 May @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

Guitarist Libby Myers presents a program of new Australian music that reimagines the contemporary identity of the classical guitar through works depicting flight and the open sky. The program features the World Premiere of Frankie Dyson-Reilly’s ‘Of Least Concern’ – a suite dedicated to Australia’s endangered birdlife. Blending specially commissioned works with original compositions, Libby draws on influences ranging from bird song and the changing sky at dawn, Irish folk tunes, the lyricism of Joni Mitchell, modern jazz and contemporary classical music.
