Queensland Baroque: Haydn’s Trumpeter
19 April @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm AEST

Come and witness the most celebrated Trumpet Concerto in E Flat Major of Franz Joseph Haydn performed by virtuoso trumpeter, John Foster. Rarely ever heard in Australia are performances of this concerto on the ‘original instrument’, the ‘Keyed Trumpet’. Written in 1796, Haydn conceived his concerto for this late 18th century invention of the keyed trumpet. Now is your chance to hear a real historical performance of this much loved concerto. Other works will include:
J.Stamitz ‘Sinfonia in G’, W.A Mozart’s ‘Posthorn Serenade’ and Haydn’s Symphony No.37.
Queensland Baroque Orchestra
Guest Conductor – Mario Dobernig
Soloist – John Foster (Keyed Trumpet & Posthorn)
