Victor Harbor Winter Whale Festival: Homecoming
7 June @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm ACST

Homecoming is a cinematic collaboration between Adelaide-born composer Matt Laing and videographer Denis Smith, featuring the iconic Bluff at Encounter Bay on South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula.
The narrative of the film follows my work From Home written in 2020/21, a piece that depicts life on the Bluff across 4 movements; the birds, the reeds, the lizard and the granite.
The culmination of two years of filming and recording, this original work will have its premiere presentation at Victa Cinema on 7 June 2026 as part of the Victor Harbor Winter Whale Festival with live music performed by three of Adelaide’s finest string players: Alison Rayner (violin), Justin Julian (viola), and David Moran (cello).
