Horizon Festival: M’ap Boulé
2 May @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm AEST

Experience the fierce and funny storytelling of M’ap Boulé – a play with re-enactments, original music and poetry about a child born of immigrants growing up in a country called Australia.
The charismatic Nancy Denis sets the stage ablaze with her journey to embrace her Black, Queer, Haitian and Australian identities. Stories framed by the pain and joy she carries from her self-liberated Ancestors who revolted against their colonisers and created the first black-led republic of Haiti.
Supported by Victoria Falconer, Kween G and more, M’ap Boulé – Haitian Creole for “I’m on fire” – is a celebration of culture, connection, resistance and spirit.
Full of vulnerability, charm and wit, join in this inspiring feat of storytelling and savour the passion and delight long after you leave the theatre.
