West Australian Youth Orchestra: Pictures of WAYO
4 October @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm AEDT

An orchestral adventure where music brings vivid imagery to life, performed by some of WA’s finest young musicians.
Join the Western Australian Youth Orchestra (WAYO) and the inspirational Peter Moore OAM for a spectacular journey through Mussorgsky and Ravel’s Pictures at an Exhibition – one of the most imaginative and exhilarating works in the orchestral repertoire.
Inspired by a gallery of artworks, this beloved masterpiece transforms pictures into music, transporting audiences from playful chicks and ancient catacombs, then building to a breathtakingly grand and triumphant finale.
The program also features Adams’ electrifying Short Ride in a Fast Machine, Barber’s deeply moving Adagio for Strings, and Berlioz’s swashbuckling Le Corsaire Overture.
With a stage filled with close to 100 brilliant young musicians, WAYO brings every scene vividly to life with stunning orchestral colour, power and imagination.
