Queensland Symphony Orchestra: Old Worlds, New Sounds
9 October @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm AEST

Queensland Symphony Orchestra makes a highly anticipated return to the Redland Performing Arts Centre stage.
Immerse yourself in the majesty and emotion of classical music performed live in RPAC’s stunning Concert Hall with its impeccable acoustics.
Led by Chief Conductor Umberto Clerici, this high-voltage program opens with an evocative overture by First Nations composer Christopher Sainsbury before acclaimed violinist Catherina Lee takes centre stage in Bruch’s soaring Violin Concerto No.1.
Australian composer Holly Harrison injects a jolt of energy with Hi Vis, a groovy contemporary work with plenty of bite. Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances then burst to life with infectious folk rhythms and vibrant colour, before Bizet’s Carmen Suite brings the concert to a thrilling close, from the sultry Habanera to the swaggering Les Toréadors.
Rich, cinematic and full of flair, this is music that grabs you from the very first note.
