Gaslighting. Gaslighter. Gaslit. We’ve all become familiar with the term used with increasing frequency to describe psychological manipulation of some kind. Less well known is Patrick Hamilton’s 1938 stage thriller Gaslight from where the term comes. But with a new Queensland Theatre production, starring Geraldine Hakewill, Kate Fitzpatrick and Toby Schmitz, set for a national tour, that’s about to change, writes Elissa Blake.
